Eero Saarinen designed the groundbreaking Womb Chair in 1948 at Florence Knoll's request for "a chair that was like a basket full of pillows—something she could really curl up in." This mid-century classic supports countless positions and offers a comforting oasis of calm, hence the name.
This chair was purchased by its original owner in 1958 and was reupholstered in 2004 with Knoll fabric (K2316 Cuddle cloth, Black Sheep) with custom armrest covers. It’s in excellent condition.
