Our Founders

Paula is the easiest person to work with—willing to do anything, smart, funny and always the first to share a NY TIMES recipe that I will never make. With an art history minor and a love of literature, she’s always tasked with determining the art medium and writing its copy to perfection. I love our business partnership and treasure the friendship that has developed with it.
— Kate
Kate has the best ideas - big and small - of anyone I know and she is a born entrepreneur. She conjured GoneGirl into existence in 2017 and has led the charge ever since. Kate is a problem-solver, a brilliant writer, knows just what to say in every situation (except when hangry and the gloves come off). Icing on the cake, she has a song for any topic in fifth grade history (honed in her previous life teaching at GDS). She no longer frosts cupcakes and I’d advise you not to suggest it. There is no better business partner.

Jessie

Jessie is a mom to two lovely adult daughters, dog mom to a personality-filled Havanese named Alfie and wife to Howie.  She is a fabulous cook and baker and always has the best snacks at her house.  She’s usually adorned with fringe, hearts or leopard…sometimes all three!

Sarah

I’m Sarah, your Richmond GoneGirl and pro treasure-hunter. I’m a Mathews County girl, which means I've never met a river day I didn’t love—or a neighbor I wasn’t excited to meet. After graduating from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), teaching, getting married and becoming a mom of three, I  turned my hobby of “spotting the good stuff” into a full-time passion. I’m  married to Stanley, who occasionally puts on his “GoneGirl Hat” and jumps in to help the team.

I’ll happily meet you wherever your pieces live: your home, your storage unit, your garage, or your MILs  mysterious attic  you’ve been avoiding. I love discovering great pieces and the stories that come with them. I’m your girl in RVA!

Collins

Nashville

About Collins—Collins as a GoneGirl has been written in the stars since birth!  She can tell stories about playing with her siblings on the antique shoe cobblers bench that was in her house growing up or where a beautiful inlaid commode was in her parent's house.  Her grandmother, Donner, would take her and her cousins to the furniture auction in Chattanooga on the weekends for "fun."  Then she met Kate Wassiliew in middle school and her fate was sealed— 4 years of high school friendship and living together all 4 years of college. She’s had a a career as a Public Defender (therefore our in house counsel), raised her three, beautiful daughters with her husband Tom, and regularly comes home to "finds" her mom has discovered and moved into Collins’ house unannounced.

Collins loves tennis and exercising; her family and friends, traveling the world, seeing live music and now helping neighbors find new homes for their beautiful furniture.  She's even walked into some houses and seen some of the pieces Donner found at auction for her friends many, many years ago.

Of note, she can identify perfect pitch and NEVER forgets a name, so her future is bright should she ever need a change from GoneGirl scenery.

Carlisle

Carlisle loves walking her dog Lefty, eating Chicken Mamacita salads from Little Rad, and attending an occasional beach party at the retirement home. She thinks that Smart Water is better than Core (she’s wrong), loves making her famous egg nog, and knows how to fold a fitted sheet. In her free time, Carlisle does the books for her husband’s advertising business and spends time at her newly renovated condo in Amelia Island.

  • Consigning with GoneGirlRVA was shockingly easy. Sarah took care of every detail with professionalism and warmth. She actually made the whole process fun! She brings a calm confidence infused with humor that immediatly put us at ease. By the end, I felt like I was working with a trusted friend rather than a consignment service. It’s the kind of white glove treatment that leaves you happy long after the moving truck pulls away.

  • “Kate and Paula were able to bundle, market and sell items I had tried to sell on my own for years. They were flexible to arrange showings and pick ups. They did their homework on pricing and set realistic expectations. I would not hesitate to use them again and have already referred them to several of my friends. This is truly a great business!”

  • Working with GoneGirl is always a pleasure. They are all things efficient, competent, helpful and sometimes hilarious. I would and do recommend them to friends and clients alike. e
