GoneGirl began when Kate (the founder) was remodeling her own home.  She found selling furniture to be fun and loved communicating with and meeting buyers.  Friends soon asked for her help and GoneGirl was born. After getting busy, she brought in Paula, a former client, as a partner.

We are based in Bethesda and work with clients in the NW Washington/Potomac/Bethesda/ Chevy Chase area.  We come to the client’s home, photograph and measure items they no longer want or need. After researching going prices and determining if the client wants it priced to move or if they are trying to recoup some cost, we advertise on local websites like Nextdoor, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist and eBay local or even national sites like Chairish. In addition, we highlight pieces on Instagram and our Facebook page.  We handle all inquiries and do not accept any offers below full ask without first checking with the client. You will receive 60% of the final sales price.

In addition to selling, we tend to come across some pretty cool items that folks are trying to sell, and we are happy to keep an eye out for anything you may be in the market for.  We have formed partnerships with several local designers and refinishers and now also sell their showroom samples.
